Former
members of the American Compensation Assiociation are up in arms and
fighting mad about our name change. Most people don't have a problem
with the new "total reward" or "global" strategy...just
with the name which continues to baffle and befuddle members.
World
at Work claims to have surveyed "some" members in regards
to the name change and received member input. As an organization created
to serve its members, we feel members should have been given the opportunity
to vote on OUR name change. In fact, we feel current WAW members should
demand our Board give us the respect we deserve and let us vote on the
name we want. We strongly feel the majority of WAW's membership does
not support the new name...and this is our chance to prove it.
Can you honestly
say you know more people who like the name than who do not? Can you
even find anyone who does not work for WAW that claims to like the name?
We neither. Clearly there is a disconnect between many members and WAW
on this issue. Let's give WAW a shot to regain our confidence by giving
members a vote in the name and the future image of our profession. Click
on e-mail WAW and demand a member vote.
